Victor, New York (August 1, 2001) - BioWorks, Inc. announced today that sales for its horticultural products increased 38% over the prior fiscal year. Targeting the greenhouse, vegetable and nursery markets, these products include RootShield® Granules, PlantShield™ and NemaShield™. The products RootShield Granules and PlantShield are based on the patented living fungus Trichoderma harzianum strain T-22 for the preventative control of root, stem and foliar diseases. NemaShield is based on the beneficial nematode Steinernema feltiae and is used for the non-chemical control of fungus gnat larvae.

Bill Foster, President and CEO, commented on the sales results, "We are pleased with our horticulture product sales this past fiscal year. Since the introduction of our horticultural product five years ago, sales have increased over 2,000%. The market place acceptance of scientifically researched, field-tested, biologically based products continues to grow."
